A: We have been growing organically in Finland since 2010 and we want to recruit new family members to our teams ourselves. In 2021, 157 new Greensteppers started with us in Finland, purely due to customer demand. Our growth rate has been strong in recent years and our personnel has also increased by around 27% annually, which is in line with our revenue growth, meaning we want to grow profitably.
Customer demand enables growth in different businesses and cities. We want to meet customer demand and that is why we always recruit to teams with a slight frontloading. That's why we also keep our advertisements open at all times, so that we can work with candidates to build a role that's right for them and schedule the start at the right moment. In this way, we take into account the candidate's interests and new clients or projects. -
A: We are not aiming to go public. We want to continue to do what we've been doing for the last 10 years or more – helping customers and doing as much good as possible. To achieve our goals, we focus on our own activities and strive to be socially, economically and environmentally responsible. We want to ensure a good and safe working environment and excellent career development opportunities for every Greensteper, and we succeed by building Greenstep in a way that works for us.

A: We have a very non-hierarchical organisation. Our organisational structure is best described as a matrix organisation, with experts in their field and key people who contribute to the service together with the team. Responsibility and freedom are keywords for us at Greenstep. This is also reflected in our recruitment, where we focus on finding proactive and self-driven people.
At Greenstep, you get to do things your way, and processes and common practices are always refined together. We believe that when every Greensteper can influence their own work and the work community, they enjoy their work and develop professionally. Each employee is supported by a supervisor and a team, but there is also a lot of cross-team work across cities, countries and services.

A: We have active discussions with consultants about workload, resourcing and designing the workload to suit everyone. In a lean organisation, each Greenstepper supports and spars each other. Our HR team also has an active dialogue with employees and everyone can request a weekly chat on a topic where they need help or want to talk.
Our occupational health service also offers preventive support, e.g. through an occupational psychologist, and comprehensive services for different situations. In addition to occupational health and medical services, you can get personal advice on nutrition, ergonomics, exercise, etc. Other employment benefits also support the well-being of each employee, in a way of each person's own choosing.

A: We work on a value basis, we have a strong desire to delight our customers and our services are always built to meet their needs. We strive to add value to every client and we want to proactively help our clients succeed. We also have a strong desire to innovate and develop. We work together to find ways of working and practices that work, and we are strongly involved in the development of different business areas.
Greenstepers also share a passion for getting things done and we have many internal development projects that we promote alongside our client work. Project teams may include people from different cities and different teams to bring together a wide range of skills and different, new ideas. We also want to maintain an open and honest atmosphere where help is easily available, colleagues are valued, feedback is given and thanks are shared.
-
A: We have the flexibility to work remotely, taking into account the clients' wishes and your own projects. Working days can be started and ended flexibly according to your own work situation. Social events and seeing one's own team are important to us and we encourage you to have team days together in the office as well. However, it is up to each team to create ways that work for them.

A: As we've grown, we've held on to our values and culture, and most importantly, the things that have been working. We are also not afraid of change and are always ready to make changes when necessary. We are never finished or perfect, so we are always looking to improve our services, our practices and our working community. Self-directed working methods and individual responsibility and freedom are not for everyone either, which is why we want to be honest about our culture during the recruitment process.
With the fast pace of growth, we expect every Greensteper to be proactive, to share knowledge and ideas, and to have a genuine desire to be part of building our company together. Based on the 2021 employee survey, our employees recommend us with a rating of 8.9 (on a scale of 0-10).

A: Greenstep's own training service, the Greenstep Academy, was established in 2019. Through the Academy, we want to leverage the expertise of greensteppers and share knowledge in different areas. On the financial side, we have different training paths to support e.g. the development from a controller to a CFO, but also specific trainings e.g. related to accounting or financial management systems. Different training paths are also built within the teams and we also use up-to-date training materials from outside to support the development of the teams. Above all, sharing knowledge is part of every Greenstepper's DNA and we actively want to learn from each other and share our own tips with others.
